Why Artificial Grass Can Keep Your House Cleaner

Why Artificial Grass Can Keep Your House Cleaner http://www.heavenlygreens.com/blog/why-artificial-grass-can-keep-your-house-cleaner @heavenlygreensNo one among us loves cleaning the house. Sure, we love the way it looks when we’re finished – neat and tidy, smelling fresh. An almost-perfect vision of order, with our own personal touch. Ready for company or anything else your family has planned.

Unfortunately, that pretty lawn you have in front and out back makes it more difficult to keep your house clean. If it’s natural grass, that is.

Dirt, mud, and debris

If your natural grass lawn is like most, it does not present you with a uniformly green, lush and fluffy surface. Oh, no. There are holes where you’ve dug out dandelions. Holes where squirrels have buried nuts. Or where your dog has excavated for reasons only he understands. There are yellow spots where the dog has pottied. Dead or bare patches that are the inevitable result of frequent rough-and-tumble play.

These areas all produce dusty dirt in dry months and mud when you water, or when it rains. Every time a family member plays outside or merely walks across the lawn, they track dirt or mud into the house.

And that’s not all. No matter how you mow or rake, grass clippings remain. And all those yellow and brown patches produce their own dry “crumbs.” Leaves and other small yard debris land on your lawn, too. All these goodies make their way into your house, along with the dirt and mud.

It’s a mess. It seems like every time you turn around, there’s another opportunity to clean the floor. There are lots of ways you can deal with muddy paws and human feet, but none of them reduce the work load. Or the frustration.

You have to be vigilant, because wet floors are a safety hazard. Miss a spot when you’re wiping up after the gang, and the next thing you know someone slips on that spot. Ouch. (Or worse.)

Grass pollen

If someone in your family suffers from grass pollen allergy, doctors recommend that you keep the windows closed. That keeps the pollen from blowing into your house on the breeze. But pollen falls to the ground, too. And then your family and pets pick it up on their feet or paws and – yep – track it into the house. You can close up hour your home and make it stuffy, but you can’t keep pollen out.

Allergy sufferers with natural grass lawns try to reduce their exposure by mowing more often and keeping the grass too short to go to seed. Aside from the fact that grass can outsmart this plan.

Artificial grass does not grow. It will never produce pollen.

Harmful chemicals

Allergens aside, natural grass introduces other potentially toxic chemicals and particulates to your home. The pesticides and fertilizers you spray or spread on your grass can easily be picked up on shoes and feet. Not only can they be tracked into your house, pets like their feet, so they can ingest these toxins.

Artificial turf virtually eliminates these problems

No dirt, mud, or grassy debris to track in. No pollen or dangerous chemicals to track in.

You realize what this means, of course. Artificial grass not only saves you time and effort outside by eliminating traditional lawn care, it saves you time and effort indoors as well. That adds up to even more time you can devote to something you’d rather be doing.
