Artificial Grass Works Well With Tiny Homes

Artificial Grass Works Well With Tiny Homes http://www.heavenlygreens.com/blog/artificial-grass-works-well-with-tiny-homes @heavenlygreensTiny homes have really caught on. They appeal to our imagination and our desire to live a life where less is more. If you choose a wee house built on wheels, it can feed your sense of adventure, too. Tiny homes are orderly and efficient inside. But that doesn’t mean you never want to venture outdoors when you’re at home.

In fact, you may be downsizing specifically to give yourself more time and money to spend outdoors, rather than doing household chores. Still . . . a compact yard would give your tiny house a finished look, just as landscaping creates an overall visual setting for standard homes and commercial properties.

Artificial grass is so perfect here!

  • It fits in beautifully with your new less-is-more approach, in every way:
  • You can spend near-zero time and money on maintenance. No need to buy, maintain, and store bulky lawn care tools. Fake grass needs only an occasional rinse to wash away dust, and if leaves fall or blow into the area, a quick rake or sweep removes them.
  • You will waste nary a drop of water keeping your grass alive, no matter what size expanse you choose.
  • It’s weather-friendly, no matter where your tiny travels may take you. Or what California’s currently unpredictable weather brings next.
  • It’s super-pet-friendly, too. Your pooch or kitty will appreciate the fluffy outdoor snooze zone. If he uses your grass to do his business, clean-up takes seconds. Urine and rinse water will drain away immediately. And, by the way, artificial grass dries fast, too.

Even if you park or permanently build your tiny home in the midst of a large and lovely natural setting – something many people are doing – you’ll still want some space just outside the door to extend your living area. Outdoor entertaining allows you to invite more folks than would fit inside. Or you can enjoy a quiet sit in the sun all by yourself.

Your house may be tiny, but fake grass offers a huge array of options

  • You can have a grassy outdoor space in any size or shape you like. Go wild with a triangle, or a circle, or a star – it’s not like your lawn will be inconvenient to mow or water!
  • “Plant” it along either side of your walkway, or make a grassy walkway instead – no worries about foot traffic wrecking it and making a mess.
  • Go up, as well as out. Does your tiny house have a flat roof, or a deck up top? Grass it over, for a creative look and an ingenious way to add cozy, comfortable outdoor living space. Install a ladder up the side of your little house, and you’re in business.
  • If you’re permanently in place, you can add a paver patio for a small table and chairs, even a fire pit. Surrounding that fire-safe patio with fake grass, and what an inviting sight!

No permanent location? Faux grass gives you lawn-to-go

With wheels as your foundation, you and your tiny house can live life on the move. But that’s no reason to forego the joyful feeling of toes in grass or that luscious green only lawn can provide:

  • Build a sliding deck you can pull out when you park, and cover it with artificial grass.
  • Plant flowers, herbs, and veggies in removable window boxes, so you’ll always have your personal favorites right at hand. (Window boxes add splashes of seasonal color and fragrance to permanent tiny houses, too.)
  • Go big (comparatively speaking), with a tiny attached outdoor kitchen with built-in gas grill, fold-down counter, and maybe even a wee fridge.

Artificial grass is all about versatility and easy care. No wonder it works so well with tiny homes.
