Don't Let An Ugly Yard Ruin Your Family Easter Celebrations

Don't let an ugly yard ruin your easter http://www.heavenlygreens.com/blog/dont-let-an-ugly-yard-ruin-your-family-easter-celebrations @heavenlygreensAlong with tulips and daffodils and the fruit trees in bloom, Easter is a sure sign of spring. It’s the occasion we use to unveil our new spring wardrobe, and it’s often the launch of our spring and summer backyard fun. This year you were prepared for the family Easter celebration like never before.

You hauled out the patio furniture, washed it off and plumped the cushions. You unfurled the umbrellas and set them in place. With the weekend’s weather in the mid-60s, you weren’t sure you’d need the umbrellas, but their colorful presence always adds to a festive atmosphere. You cleaned the house, prepared mountains of food and readied burgers and steaks for the grill.

You dyed real eggs and filled plastic ones with candy for your famous annual All-Cousins Easter Egg Hunt. The kids even helped, and the dog stayed out from underfoot for once.

But wait. Something is terribly wrong with this picture.

There’s nothing like the arrival of company -- especially relatives you don’t see all that often – to make you realize just how tatty your lawn has become. You thought Aunt Betty was bad with the white-finger routine indoors, but you can just imagine what Uncle Earl is saying behind your back about the yard. Mr. My-Grass-Always-Looks-Perfect.

Annoying as the deficiencies of our lawn can be, we tend to get used to them – the brown or bare patches, the weeds that keep popping back up, the bugs, the mole mounds. We see these things every day and, after a while, we just look past them. But every one of these defects shines like a beacon when companies arrives. You might as well have installed flashing lighted signs in your yard that say “UGLY LAWN HERE, UGLY LAWN HERE.”

All that work to create an amazing Easter celebration, ruined by the awful first impression made by your ratty grass. How embarrassing.

Heaven knows you’ve tried.

All that endless routine of mowing, raking, fertilizing, pest control and reseeding dead spots – weekend after weekend given over to diligently attempting to create the beautiful landscape you picture in your mind. The beautiful lawn you want neighbors to envy as they drive by every day. All that work for naught. Of course it doesn’t help that you can’t water enough anymore.

The truth is, the days when you could grow and maintain a lush, emerald, manicured lawn are gone, no matter how much time and money you invest in labor, gas and chemicals.

Don’t let this happen to you, ever again.

Why keep banging your head against the grass, metaphorically speaking, when you can take charge of your future by installing artificial grass instead? No watering, no endless maintenance, just the beautiful yard you’ve always wanted. Imagine how different next year’s family event will be.

Not only will Aunt Betty actually compliment your home and your Easter celebration preparations, Uncle Earl will have a jaw-dropping moment of jealousy when he gets an eyeful of your yard. He may think his grass is perfect, but yours simply outclasses it. Not one scruffy brown patch. Every blade the perfect length, lushly inviting, as if you just mowed it. And what are you using to pull off that fabulous, consistently green color? This is nothing like last year!

He bends down to take a closer look. Very close. Is that fake grass?! Who knew it looks that natural? Who knew it feels that soft? Maybe he should rethink his own yard.

Knock their socks off next Easter. Save time and money and take back your weekends. Instead of slaving hopelessly, you’ll be able to enjoy your time off, doing whatever you want or nothing at all. And when next year’s Easter’s family celebration rolls around, you’ll be sitting pretty – relaxed, confident, ready to man the barbeque instead of apologizing about your yard.
