How Artificial Grass Can Help Keep Your House Clean

Why-AG-Can-Keep-Your-House-Cleaner-BlogHomeowners who have done the research and eventually switched from natural grass lawns to artificial grass, have fewer problems keeping their house clean. Artificial turf is much cleaner in general and doesn't generate any waste. It retains its fresh, clean cut look without forcing you to spend hours working in the yard. Instead, you can enjoy your lawn and spend time with your family doing the things you love.

No Dirt or Mud

Artificial grass has an interwoven, mesh netting underneath that allows water to flow through and be drained away. During the installation of artificial turf, the ground is prepared and smoothed over. A filler is applied along with a network of shallow channels that allow for excess water drainage. Once the turf is applied, it provides a secure buffer against dirt and mud. Even with the heaviest rains, water is allowed to flow away from the property.

Very little if any dirt is exposed to the elements. This means when conditions are wet and rainy, there is no way for mud to form. With less dirt and mud, it is less likely that children and pets are going to track it through the home. In fact, artificial grass will actually act like a door mat, brushing away dirt and debris that people carry across your lawn from other yards.

No Grass Clippings and Lawn Debris

No mowing means no grass clippings. Grass clippings can stain shoes and clothing and will stick to almost anything. When a lawn has just been mowed, clippings are sticky and will adhere to tile and carpet once they find their way into the home. Installing artificial grass eliminates clippings and the worry of having them brought into the home.

Lawn debris includes leaves, sticks, weeds and other natural things that collect in a lawn. While artificial turf eliminates grass clippings, it doesn't stop other natural debris from accumulating. It does, however, make it much easier to clean up. Because of the texture and the way artificial blades of grass are made, it is much less likely for natural lawn debris to become embedded within it. A lawn rake or leaf blower can efficiently and effectively most loose forms of lawn debris before they find their way into your freshly cleaned home.

Less Dust and Fewer Allergens

One of the most important benefits artificial grass offers to homeowners is less dust and fewer allergens. Because artificial turf acts as a buffer against dirt, there is little dust produced when drought conditions are present. The drier dirt gets, the more dust is formed. Dust can become airborne and enter your home through windows, open doors and vents. No dirt, means no dust from your yard to wipe off of furniture and counter tops.

Allergens come from all plants that pollinate. Trees and grass both produce pollen. It's difficult to stop trees from pollinating, but when it comes to allergies, they do not produce much of a threat. Grass and weeds are the main culprits when it comes to allergies and upper respiratory problems. Homeowners who have children with allergies often consider artificial turf as a means of effectively eliminating the contributing allergens. Installing artificial turf eliminates the grass and weeds that produce the allergens that cause the distressing symptoms many children endure during the long summer months.

When pollen is produced it must transfer from plant to plant. Normally it does this by becoming airborne or attaching to the fur of an animal. Either way pollen and all other natural allergens find their way into your home where they land on surfaces and become embedded in the fibers of furniture and clothing. When grass and weeds are gone, there are fewer allergens around to enter the home and cause problems. Take care of your family and pets by switching to synthetic turf.
