Need Yard Care At Vacation Time? Take Care Of It Once And For All

Need_Someone_to_take_care_of_your_yard_at_vacation_timeWith the Bay Area’s temperate year-round weather, your yard can quickly grow out of control. That goes for weeds and other lawn-related problems, too, if you don’t stay on top of mowing and other yard care essentials. If you’re going to be away for more than a few days, you have to arrange for someone to take care of your lawn – hoping they will do a good job and charge you fairly.

It’s just one more hassle associated with attempting to create the American Dream yard, with a gorgeous lush lawn as the centerpiece. But what can you do?

There’s no question a beautiful lawn adds significant curb appeal to your home, and having grass where the family and the family dog can play and relax is something we’ve all come to expect. It’s why you chose not to live in the center of downtown, surrounded by concrete instead cool, soft grass. With all that on the line, you can’t afford to return from vacation and find your treasured lawn looking, well, haggard. Neglected.

Ugh. Now you’ll have to work harder than ever to resuscitate it. If you can even accomplish that. Because, truthfully, your lawn probably isn’t looking up to American Dream standards these days anyway. Despite your endless mowing, fertilizing, pest control efforts et al, California’s drought has taken its toll over the past few years. And now water restrictions have been tightened again, making it even more unlikely your lawn is going to look its best.

And, frankly, yard work isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. You can tell yourself you’re getting good exercise, but wouldn’t you rather be doing something else? And who wants to worry about their lawn while they’re on vacation?

There is an easier way.

Instead of calling around to find someone to take care of your yard while you’re away, why not call an artificial turf expert to learn how easy it is to lose that headache-producing lawn and replace it with no-hassle fake grass?

Artificial turf looks and feels like natural grass. Actually, it looks better, because it is never plagued with moles, dandelions and clover, dead patches caused by insects or kids at play or less-than-emerald color brought on by lack of nutrients. Your current lawn, on the other hand, is probably suffering from at least one if not all of these frustrating conditions.

When was the last time you wanted to jump out of your shoes and wiggle your toes in your grass? Since artificial turf feels as luxuriant as it looks, you’re in for a treat you haven’t enjoyed in a long time.

Artificial turf is tougher than real grass. No matter how creatively your kids and their friends play on it, fake grass won’t “wilt” or go bald. It’s always ready for action, whether the troops are wrestling, playing Frisbee with the dog or just running around.

And speaking of action, with artificial turf, you can have more than lawn.

As lovely and refreshing as a lawn can look, there are only so many games you can play on it. So while you’re ditching the natural grass in favor of a better-looking and easier-to-maintain alternative, consider this: you can create any number of specialized backyard recreation areas with today’s artificial turf. Picture your yard with your own personal:

  • Putting green
  • Bocce ball court
  • Croquet court
  • Tennis court

Picture artificial turf under your kids’ swing set and jungle gym, instead of barkdust. And in your dog’s run.

The one thing you can’t have with fake grass is yard work. Sorry, you’ll just have to spend more time on vacation. Or relaxing around the bar-be-que. Or polishing your putting.
